You asked, and we listened. Due to increased demand and interest, we’ve added in fifteen one-bedroom solar cottages at Itz’ana! They’re the perfect home away from home for couples and independent travelers looking to experience the natural beauty of Belize first hand, with a front-row seat on the country’s unspoiled Placencia Peninsula.

March 8 is International Women’s Day! Here at Itz’ana, on Belize’s Placencia peninsula, we’re surrounded by many amazing women, and are always happy to celebrate them.

Not far from Itz’ana, about an hour’s drive into the forested interior of Central Belize, one of the world’s most beautiful and elusive predators gracefully slinks across the damp terrain.

Every month or so, we like to introduce you to one of the families who’ve joined the Itz’ana community. So far, you’ve met Justin Keane, who was drawn to the authentic local vibes of Placencia, and the Senkes, who love Itz’ana’s emphasis on nature-first.

Visitors to Belize often find themselves impressed by the immense biodiversity on view in our tropical country. Offshore, the Belize Barrier Reef is home to thousands of species of fish. On land, hundreds of bird species are a delight to naturalists.
