Set in the seaside village of Placencia, Belize, Itz'ana Resort & Residences is the newest luxury lifestyle offering in the Caribbean, having just announced that we will be opening our doors on December 10th! Our opening marks the launch of Mission-Driven Luxury, a commitment to offering our guests authentic experiences that sustain the region's indigenous culture and natural environment, paired with unique high-design elements and experiences from a collection of artists and designers. Named after the Mayan god of day and night, the name Itz'ana is meant to represent the dichotomy of jungle and beach, with our guests encouraged to experience both luxury and adventure while in Belize.
"This region of Belize is one of the most beautiful and ecologically diverse places I've ever visited." Our esteemed developer, Mr. Fernando Paiz explained in his speech in the Ground Breaking ceremony four years ago that he was "excited to share this treasure with the world."
In addition to a burgeoning foodie scene, Placencia is ideally located for the adventurer, with access to islands, reefs, jungles and caves. Only five miles from the heart of ‘the village', our guests are encouraged to integrate into the safe local community and then come back to relax at our onsite restaurant and pool.
Accommodations at Itz'ana include king-size beds, natural cotton-knit towels, robes and linens, a custom-painted mural, 49" LCD TV, custom organic bath products and exceptional water views from every room. Our Great House is a Hemingway-inspired gathering place for amazing cuisine located in the heart of the property, where guests can dine at our restaurant, Limilia or enjoy light bites and cocktails at the Pool Bar. The hotel also provides beach and pool services. The wine list has been curated by Chef Dean Uren, our resident South African food and beverage specialist.
Over the past four years of construction and preparation, we have cultivated a community of 80 plus homeowners for our future residences. This dynamic, adventurous and successful group of people have patiently awaited this day and there is more to come! Our beachside residences will be open for reservation within the first half of 2020 and our lagoon side residences in the year following that.
