Discover a new way of experiencing the extraordinary vistas of Southern Belize with an electrifying marathon race. Having started in 2012 as a celebration of the apocalyptic craze sparked by the Maya Calendar, the End of the World Marathon covers 26 miles of beach terrain along the Placencia Peninsula.
Challenging, yet picturesque, this marathon is a spectacular way to experience Belize.
Running Along the Caribbean Coastline
Offering more than just the Caribbean sea and sun, the stunning Placencia Peninsula is a magnetic destination for athletes. With the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Placencia Lagoon on the other, there is no doubt why this marathon has become one of the country's most anticipated running events. Set to take place on December 4th, the route features a moderately flat course. Runners can choose to run a half marathon or a full marathon. Whether you're an experienced runner or a beginner, the End of the World Marathon is an exciting challenge that must be experienced.
For the Community
Garnering support from hundreds of volunteers and participants, this event is more than just a marathon. All proceeds raised from registration fees for the End of the World Marathon are donated in full and go towards providing scholarships for Belizean youth. High schools, universities, and trade schools will benefit from the proceeds.
