With only two exclusive penthouses for sale, these expansive retreats are the pinnacle of Placencia elegance, with tranquil interiors from designer Samuel Amoia. "When I saw the stunning surroundings I was working with, I knew I had to make these penthouses one-of-a-kind," he says. Penthouses have elevator access, a first in Placencia, as they sit atop the hotel. The three-bedroom penthouse sits closest to the Caribbean, while the two-bedroom penthouse overlooks the pool, beach, and ocean. The penthouses are fully furnished with each interior detail personally curated, adding to their allure.
Throughout the residences, you'll notice that the colors inside echoes the hues outdoors. "I'm inspired by the details of nature," the designer says. "The blue of the water, the angle of the palms. It's not hard to create beauty in this place, but I consider it my duty as a designer to do it in harmony with everything that makes this place beautiful to begin with." The sunrises from these highly desired east-facing positions will be a daily highlight as the colors of the mornings in Placencia are always a surprise. An eclectic mix of original artwork adds to the exotic intrigue of the space. Delightful inspiration emerges from Guatemalan weavers, Belizean artists, Indonesian craftsmen, New York-based painter Monica Perez, and Florida-born multimedia artist Alex Fideli.
The floor plans are designed to make resort living easy as the kitchen, dining, and living areas all flow together and overlook the Caribbean beach. Architect Roberto de Oliveira sought to create a space that elegantly merges indoor and outdoor living with the best views at Itz'ana. Count the infinite stars or the many private islands that dot the horizon. "In the morning, the entire space is lit by the pink sun rising from the ocean and in the evening the stars start emerging early and by late evening it's a cathedral of twinkling lights" says Roberto.
The chef kitchens, curated by Itz'ana's own Chef Dean Uren, are designed for entertaining and exploring our diverse culinary traditions and feature elite Monogram appliances. Penthouse guests can request a chef to prepare private dinners or a sous-chef to help prepare their fresh-catch and produce from the farmer's market. "We'll maintain essential herbs for the kitchen in planters on the deck as every chef needs fresh herbs," says Chef Dean. Over-sized decks surround the living areas and provide sweeping views of the coastline with the luxury of a private plunge pool.
